October 17, 2026: Celebrate Bird Research and Conservation at the UVA Coastal Research Center with Birding Eastern Shore!

Location: 6364 Cliffs Road, Cape Charles, VA (off of Crumb Hill Road, in the Village of Oyster)

As part of the 20 Year Celebration of the UVA Coastal Research Center, join Oscar Melendez Vera, UVA student and former Virginia Tech Shorebird intern, and Roberta Kellam, from Birding Eastern Shore, Inc., for a birding walk and talk focused on the birds of coastal Virginia. Two sessions are scheduled: (1) 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. - Meet at the Coastal Research Center fire pit for a walk around the station property and dock, and (2) 2:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. – Meet at the TNC Oyster Village Horse Island Trail for a walk along the trail.
