Meet at the Refuge Visitor Center parking lot. Various trails will be walked in search of migrating songbirds, raptors, and waterbirds.

Meet at the Chincoteague Island Nature Trail parking lot for an easy walk through the trails to look for Fall songbird migrants. After, we will visit Swan Cove and Tom’s Cove at Chincoteague NWR to look for migrating shorebirds. A Duck Stamp, Annual Pass, or Fee will be required to enter to the Refuge.

Join Roberta Kellam and Sonal Shah for a walk through the trails of Kiptopeke State Park to search for migrating songbirds. We will end at the Hawk Watch and join the Coastal Virginia Wildlife Observatory hawk watcher to enjoy various migratory raptor species as they fly south.

Join staff from Coastal Virginia Wildlife Observatory to view migrating birds during their official Morning Count. Sunset beach can offer close up views of migrating songbirds as well as waterbirds migrating in the bay. Participants are welcome to join anytime between 7:00 am and when the count ends around 10:00 am.

Join Birding Eastern Shore and Virginia Eastern Shore Land Trust for an evening bird walk at Bowman’s Folly, a private property protected in perpetuity with a conservation easement held by the Land Trust. Pre-registration required; meeting location will be provided upon registration.
